once upon a time... i had a beautiful little garden. i planted corn and peas and spinach and all sorts of fun stuff! it sure was pretty [until summer came]. after that i moved away... and my poor little garden was used no more. it sat there silently waiting for my return.... well, that day has come. i officially started the garden revamp project today! its gonna be amazing. we really need to rent a bobcat or some other piece of big ol' machinery in here to get it all leveled out and blah blah blah... but my lettuce has sprouted and in a few weeks we will be ready to plant. before, we only had one raised bed, but this time we are going to do two big beds on each side of the garden area... then do a flagstone path leading down the middle. and... we are going to be getting shade-cloth... which should help protect the plants during the hot hot summer months. im getting really excited for all this to come together! i love doing this kind of stuff! :)
then...
now...
it wasnt really that hard to take it all down- the bricks were just stacked... so it was really easy to just unstack them. and as i was doing so... i kept getting startled by all these little geckos hibernating in the bricks! 4 of them were these itty bitty little mediterranean house geckos....
and one was this cool looking western banded gecko- like this one... [it kept making this funny squeeking noise]...
anyway. i successfully moved them to a new location in our backyard without making their tails fall off... i hate when that happens. high five to me!
i also found these cute little gecko eggs. kinda fun, eh?
::
welp. it sure has been a productive day.
and its not even over yet...
and its not even over yet...

kendle, you are so funny. i couldn't even make my one little pot of strawberries grow! i don't know how you do it!
I love your garden plans!... you inspire me. I have been wanting to start one for several years. maybe I should just hire you to do it for me...haha
It was pretty then... someday it will be EVEN prettier!
Aubry...you should totally hire Kendle! She's amazing (and possibly needs the work.) :)
