okay so here's how the story goes... i am at work today, you know, doing whatever i do... when paula and i get to talking about how my name plaque thing hasn't come in yet (she ordered it a few weeks ago and actually called the name plaque maker people) ... a few hours later... tada! like magic it had appeared on her desk! so naturally i took a picture of it for you all to see... its amazing!! i feel so important now! so one of the team! haha... seriously. its cool! isnt it cool? i think it is. thanks paula! :) okay so i am all smiling and laughing because, well... it made me happy (and it totally made my day!), it says kendle sue farr... haha how funny?! and our boss, patti was like what's your last name? and i said farr... because that's what it is... and she said really? are you related to any of the farrs in ogden? (apparently her mom is a farr.) so the conversation continues as normal for me when i get asked if i am related to any farrs... basically i say that my only farr relatives are in arizona... but i know that we are somehow related way down the line to all the utah folk... well turns out me and patti are related not so far down the line... winslow farr is our common ancestor. (i know that there were a couple winslows... maybe it was a couple of lorins.... shoot, i don't remember... psst... mommy and daddy... any help here? it would kinda be interesting to see where our family trees connect... please?) so basically, that's it... which brings me to my "only in the mormon universe" moment.... honestly. i seriously believe that all mormons are related... somehow.... and that is so stinking funny to me! :)

Here's the deal: Lorin Farr (1st mayor of Ogden)--his father was Winslow Sr. We visited both Lorin & Winslow's homes in Nauvoo. Lorin had a brother named Winslow. Probably many Winslows over the years. Lorin had 5 wives with which he had 11, 9, 7, 6, 6 (39) children. Married 6th wife when he was 80.
4th wife was Mary Bingham. Had 6 children. 4th was Willard Farr (your great great gpa). He married 2 women: Mary Ballantyne. Had 11 children. Married Mary Ann Romney. Had 10 children with her. Lorin Miles Farr (3rd child). (2nd child was a Winslow.) That Lorin is your gpa's dad. Mary Ann Romney is our connection to the Romney family (Marion G. Romney & George Romney, Mitt's dad were all 1st cousins to gpa Lorin). Willard volunteered to come to AZ to settle St. Johns area. Met Mary Ann in AZ.
