last saturday... july 12th... a little group of us from cinnamon tree got together and went canoeing down the provo river! it was danielle and jared- in one canoe, me and annika- in another canoe, and spencer and brian- in the last canoe. spencer was the one who put this all together... i don't know how he found this little canoe-rental place, but it was so fun! and pretty cheap too... it was 15 dollars per canoe for 4 hours... so only like 7 or 8 dollars each... and oh my heck was it worth it! i had such a blast!
okay so we go there and the boys are getting the canoes in the water for us, and there are mosquitoes everywhere! seriously everywhere!! and they were huge! so we hurried and found life jackets and got in our canoes... and it was kind of wobbly dock... and i really thought i was going to fall in... haha, but don't worry i didn't. and i've never done anything like this, so i probably looked a little silly... but oh well, it was so fun! annika and i were pretty impressively skilled for never having done this before! --we pretty much stayed in last place the whole time because we had dinky little wooden paddles... oars... whatever they're called. although we did pull up to the dock first... because annika traded her oar for spencers! lol... so i guess we won! :) -- we were on the provo river... and it was completely still! there was not one ripple that we did not make... so it was very challenging... haha... i was a little worried that it would be like river rafting, but it so wasn't.
but i have to admit, i felt like a little safari explorer or something... haha we would go around a bend and i would half expect to see hippos or elephants or little aboriginal people with shrunken heads... lol, like the safari ride at disneyland... but we didn't, we did see ducks and a couple of fish... and brian and spencer claimed to have seen a beaver... haha, but i missed that.... the only boat to tip was spencer and brians... and it was in the first 10 minutes cause danielle and jared rammed into them full speed! it was actually quite funny... cause it wasn't me! lol...
so we canoed our way down to utah lake... pulled the canoes up, because apparently we weren't allowed to take them on the actual lake... went swimming for awhile then got back in our canoes and paddled back upstream... and we were done... seriously though, i would so do it again! i really did have such a blast!! wish you all coulda seen me... i'm sure it would have been amusing! :)

geeze kendle... it took you long enough to blog it! haha! that does sound like fun! you're doing all sorts of fun stuff up there! no fair!
