when i was growing up, i use to babysit a lot... i nanny-ed a 6 month old for a summer... i really thought i was pretty comfortable with babies... well... when i came home last month after seeing hayley only once [right after she was born] i realized i had kinda lost my touch... im not as used to babies as i once was.
that first night home, adrian was doing the whole baby talk thing... and kelsey was playing peek-a-boo and stuff... and adrian was telling me to play with her and lay down with her while she was laying on the floor... and talk to her and everything... and it kinda was just a little awkward... maybe because adrian was right there...watching me. [i always hated babysitting with the parents in the house... it always felt super awkward to me... maybe that was my problem that first night home?] dont get my wrong... i love hayley! and i really do like babies... ive just kinda forgotten how to do the whole baby thing...
well... mom and i are babysitting hayley today [while adrian and dustin are at the temple with the sanders family]... and theres not a whole lot to do with a four month old... maybe it would be different if it was my baby... but i put her in the swing for a few minutes... and then she got fussy... so i put her on the floor for tummy time for a few minutes... and then she got fussy... then we tried the bouncer for a few minutes... and then she got fussy... so i walked with her and we looked at the birds for a few minutes.... and then she got fussy*... what else are you supposed to do? after that i flipped her over... wait. that sounds weird. i switched positions... laid her in my arms... just craddled her, you know? and she went right to sleep! so maybe i havent lost my touch after all...
i sure do love this baby girl...

:)
*she wasnt really fussy... shes not a fussy baby... it was just like a "hey im bored with this" kind of fussy... just to clarify. lol.

First of all, where is her bow!?! The perfectly coordinating one that I stayed up late making!
I'm sure your "touch" is coming back. Slowing but surely.
Ok you made it sound like I have a really fussy baby... She defintely has her moments but come on!
Very cute pic! her hair looks really fun though. Did I tell you I think it's starting to fall out? My poor baby!
Thanks for watching her today! We had a nice day at the temple but I sure missed my baby!
Woah I just typed a big long comment and it cut it all off. Weird.
As I was saying...
She definitely has her moments, but come one!
Very cute picture! Although her hair looks really funny (thats why she needs a bow)! Did I tell you I think it's falling out? My poor baby.
Thanks for watching her today! We had a nice day but I certainly missed my baby!
OK now I look like an idiot that double posted. Seriously, it kept cutting off words. Then each time it would go back into it, it added words back. Weird. Whatever! At least it looks like you have a bunch of comments!
The bow would squish her head. You said it was small. (But it did match perfectly.)And note to Adrian: Austin was amazed that there was not a matching bow, until I told him there was a matching bow. It was just in her bag.
Newborn baby hair falls out, then grows back in... note to Adrian.. or you could be rubbing it off with all the bows!!JK! love you all!
Thanks for the clarification! She does get bored... I'm not gonna lie! I know baby hair falls out. I just thought if it was going to fall out it would have already. She's almost 4 months old! Oh well! It may very well be the bows! I'm a little obsessed!
