rock climbing...

so... i went rock climbing today. for serious!! i did!! and can i just say... it was so crazy fun! crazy fun!! heres the story:

a couple weeks ago, i was talking to one of the grad students from the rmyl (melissa)... you see there is a wall of pictures in our office of all the professors and secretaries doing fun looking recreational activities... and she was asking me where my picture was at. and i kinda giggled, cause im not a very outdoorsy-recreational person... and she said that she would take me rock climbing so that i could have a picture on the wall... and i think i said something like "umm.. like on real rocks?"... hahah... anyway this week she said that she and another of the grad students (rachel) were planning on going this weekend. im not gonna lie, i was a little bit unsure of going... im a sissy... and i hear rock climbing is kinda hard... especially like on actual rocks, but paula and rachel talked me into it.... but i was still a little bit nervous.

so this morning i drove to the trail head at rock canyon (its right up by the provo temple)... we were meeting at 11.... i got there at 11... and no one was there. and i said that i was only gonna wait a few minutes... i was pretty sure i was at the right spot. so 11:20 rolls around and i was like alright... 5 more minutes and im leaving. thats when melissa and rachel drove up. haha... so i was stuck... i was really going to do it!

okay so we went up the canyon a little ways... and got our ropes set up. apparently we were doing what they call "top rop climbing." pretty sweet. oh and our climb was rated a "5-7" apparently thats a little bit tougher than normal for a first climb... rachel went first, because... well im a chicken. so i watched her. than after she got done i went up. and holy poop! the rocks were cold. and it was hard.... and i shoulda cut my nails before i went. but it was amazing!! it took my awhile, but i did it! :) i probably looked like dork, but i did it! i got to the top and kissed the chains... hahaha... melissa said thats what she does when she reaches the top of hard climbs... and i thought it was appropriate for the situation! anyway... halfway up i seriously had to stop cause my hands were shaking. but i made it to the top!! and i really feel like i accomplished something!

i really had such a fun time!! i havent had that much fun in a long time...and my hands and forearms are really sore.... but it doesnt matter, cause i had a blast! :D

so...question (adrian) can i put this on my list of things to do? and check it off? i think its allowed... haha...
