i got home and was watering some plants when i saw this neat little thing....
we must have some harvester ants or something, but i saw this and was reminded of the british artist andy goldsworthy. i was first introduced to his art in my photography class at byu. its absolutely beautiful stuff... he works with things found in nature... hardly anything man-made or permanent. anyway... his stuff its totally worth checking out. it really is pretty brilliant. also... mom and i [and soon, kelsey too] have started a little quilting project. some women in my family's ward have put together this quilting group... and mom and i are doing it too. we are starting on an "easy" quilt, which is a good thing since neither of us have really ever quilted before. hopefully it will end up looking something like this...
but this is my fabric...
and this is mom's....
pretty cute, eh? im really excited about it all! i get to go to a little lesson on how to use my sewing machine tomorrow morning, woot woot!... and then we really start quilting! i think it will be a super fun new project... anyway, wish us luck!! :)

I absolutely LOVE the look of homemade quilts (especially those with ADORABLE fabrics like yours!), but am honestly not sure if I have the patience to embark on one, myself. ;) I can't wait to see what you accomplish!
i can't wait to see your country thunder pics!! you and nicole are lucky little ducks. all weekend i was so freaking jealous that i was studying my brain out and you were partying to mr. mchottie luke bryan singing metallica... anyway, i love your fabric and mom's is going to be so cute!! i can't wait to come home THIS WEEK and see everything and pick out my own fabric! we're going to have a crafty summer!
Way to go. I have not done a quilt. Can't wait to see it when its done.
PS WHats Country Thunder
your fabric is ridiculously cute! yours kind of looks black in that picture, but I LOVE the blue and brown together. (Hence my living room.) And if I ever had a baby boy, his room with totally be blue and brown too! So excited to see how it turns out! How did your lesson go?
Good Luck on the quilting. I taught Shelby how to do (easy) quilting. She does baby blankets. Ask Adrian to see Hayleys blanket. Just cute, not hard to do. And what is "country thunder"? Drop me a note as to what it is.
