funny dang story...

oh yes. i was going to post this earlier today, but i got distracted by my happy little flowers....

i have a story! :)

so last week jason called me and asked me to babysit isabel during his and erics basketball game [laurel was at work].... so of course i said yes! i love hanging out with them and i love isabel! she is really cute! and i have fun with her! so i went over and was sitting down on the bleachers that she was playing on and quite literally was there less than a minute and she slipped and hit her head... and she, naturally, started crying and only wanted her daddy... and i was not "daddy" - i tried to calm her down i swear! but it wasnt working... she didnt calm down until laurel got there after half time. yeah... high five to kendle. not. oh and i had told katie that i was going... and she told me to make eye contact with a guy... and i tried to explain to her that the majority of dudes there were married... she said to try to anyway... and i woulda but i was busy with isabel, and there wasnt really anyone else on the bleachers... so. yeah. oh and i got paid with dr pepper! heck yes! lol...

okay. so yesterday jason texted my to see if i could babysit again... he said isabel would have another little girl to play with, so i said yes. i went... and things were looking good... she was going across the bleachers kinda scooting on her knees... and playing and jumping with the other little girl and it was fun! and! some guy came in and sat on the bleachers... he was pretty cute... and didnt have a [wedding] ring on... and! we made eye contact a couple times. [laugh all you want... but thats a good step for me.... haha!] oh... he was cheering for the other team though. so i was going back and forth with isabel, just trying to make sure that she didnt start crying and all of the sudden i hear this guy whip out an f bomb... i wasnt quite sure if i had heard him right! and then he starts spewing profanities! spewing! i was kinda surprised... not really used to that much language in such a short amount of time! and i started laughing... i raised my eyebrows in a "whoa-are-you-kidding-me-this-is-an-intramural-basketball-game-with-little-children-around-so-calm-the-heck-down" kind of expression and ushered isabel to the other side. apparently the refs had made some calls that this fella did not agree with. the lady with the other little girl started talking to this guy and he got all up in her face and was just cussing her out! he eventually left and his friends were kinda apologizing for him, but apparently i dont have good taste in the guys i make eye contact with! hahaha! anyway... they kept playing for a few minutes until apparently the refs made some more bad calls [i dont really know what exactly was happening... im not very knowledgeable in the sports department... so i dont really know what the ref was calling fouls for, but obviously something was going down! i understood that much! haha!] okay... so they were still playing and then something happened... and there was more cussing and the refs called the game at four minutes. and then i heard someone else start cussing up a bloomin storm and apparently it was some dude from jasons team. and he stormed out of the court... and naturally i was still laughing! how could you not!? it was totally unnecessary... it was a game! apparently these dudes havent ever heard of "sportsmanship like conduct" - wow. really? wow. jason and erik apologized and i just laughed... its not like they had any control of it... oh and jason and erik didnt swear [high five to my cute cousins!] ... and it wasnt really that big of a deal, just totally unnecessary. i really dont understand how people get this worked up about a game... or how they seriously have no control over their emotions.

anyway... we were walking to the cars and i see this dude from jasons team in the truck and i looked at him and started smiling and laughing again... [the whole situation is pretty amusing if you think about it!] and then he gets out of his car and starts walking towards me! and i was just thinking "aw heck... please dont kill me! please dont kill me! please dont kill me! ...or cuss me out!" [i dont really enjoy being cussed at.] and he gets up to me and apologizes for his behavior blah blah blah and i say something lame like "thank you... i appreciate your apology" blah blah blah anyway. i thought the whole thing was funny... i got a laugh out of it... and a dr. pepper! life was good. haha...

oh and i told katie about the dude and she was like "maybe you should start looking for a ring... a ctr ring." hahaha.... wise words indeed.
