aloha...

so... once upon a time, nicole got set apart as activities chairman. we had a lot of good times planning a lot of good activities.... and then she got married and i inherited the calling.

my first big activity was a luau. we have some polynesian boys in our ward who put on a show... they sang and danced and were absolutely fantastic! we also have a lady in our home ward who is hawaiin and did the food for us. she made pork and rice and potato salad. we also had fruit and rolls. it was seriously awesome!

i have to admit, i was a little bit nervous... and a little bit stressed, but it turned out amazing... we had tons of food and tons of fun! i think the approximate head count was 250. from what i hear people liked it :)

i was kind of running around during a lot of it... so my awesome zac took pictures for me (that... and it is his calling. haha)... so, here we go...

what a day...

we had the elders over for dinner tonight. austin grilled hamburgers.... they were yummy. but look at what he did to his...

haha... grandpa only took half a bun, so austin took it upon himself to not let the other half go to waste. what a goober he is. lol...

afterwards... he and i were supposed to do the dishes. instead we went outside and dipped out toes in the pool. we got new rafts from costco today, they are wicked sweet. i wanted to see if they were tall enough that i wouldn't get wet... so... i tried it (still in regular clothes)... needless to say, it didn't work. but! they are going to be wicked awesome tanning rafts.

i'm stoked.

we've been trying to get chowder used to the pool and the rafts (he barks every time they are floating in the pool... it's funny). so he floated with us today. chowder makes me smile.

memorial day bust...

so... all morning long hayley has been wanting to go swimming. we were all getting excited for the first swim of the season. we all got ready... with our swimsuits and sunscreen and hats. we went outside (where it was a pleasant 75*) and dipped our feet in the pool. hayley didn't like it. we kept trying to lower her in. it was not happening. 

instead, dustin got the little elephant sprinkler thing ready... hayley didn't like the "rain," but chowder did :)

so... we all went back inside and hayley played with our super old tupperware play set. she had no problem playing in that water... 

sheesh. 

now it's nap time.

so. today is memorial day, right? it's a holiday. you're supposed to sleep in... so that's what i was working on when i hear a rather loud, "OHH, OHH! OHHH!!!" i get up to see what happened and mom and adrian told me that there was some blood by the door and they think it was from chowder. so i start looking and there was indeed two drops of blood and something yucky stuck in the door. 

here's what i saw from the outside looking in....

bahahaha! mason and zac were over for dinner and games last night... we are thinking that one of them squished the poor frog on their way out. haha... it's so freaking nasty, but pretty freaking funny.

mmm chowder....

so... i don't really have anything exciting going on in my life. hence another post of my adorable little puppy! be excited... i am! :) 

they changed my schedule at work so i have a freaking random wednesday and thursday off. i'm not gonna lie- i wasn't super productive... i did do my laundry, but not a lot else. i watched some tv, had a couple cuddle sessions with the chow and played a whole lot. 

i put chowder in the pool again today. it was funny. he did pretty good with it. he didn't move from the step, but i figure baby steps are just the thing. 

i really need to start taking pictures with me camera again... this whole cell phone camera thing just isn't quite cutting it.

day off work...

ahhh.... i love mondays. 

i used to not like mondays, but they are my favorite now. it's my day off work and i love getting stuff done. it's kinda hard to believe that a year ago i was doing nothing. some days that just sounds really nice. haha....

today... i mowed the lawn for the first time ever. yes. that's right... ever. 

it's kinda like vacuuming.... kinda. hahaha.

 ps... i'm working on my tan. and i'm super duper excited for summer to be here. 

also... chowder has taken to sleeping in the wrapped up hose. i wonder if it is cooler. or if he just likes it. i'm wondering if i (or dad & i) should make him a little doggy house for when he is outside? maybe...

 anyway... the picture was through mom & dad's sliding glass window... hence the weird lines. sorry, but he's just so stinking cute and i didn't want to wake him up.

i love me a chowder.

yesterday was his 15 week checkup...

he's 10.4 pounds... and perfect. 

a few fun new things about chowder...

*he chases shadows

*he doesn't like steve carell... especially when he's laughing

*he barks at a ghost in our family room (yes... that's right, but the ghost is only there in the mornings).

*he can sit and lay down on command

*he really is growing... i got him a bigger crate even!

*he loves to sleep on his back... with his little feet in the air.

he's just about the cutest thing ever!
